Taking on some water in the big ice storm!

The storm that gave Texas snow and no power, gave us rain and ice.  We were in Vermont for the storm and arrived home mid afternoon after it all stopped.  The house was covered with a tarp, however we took on some water through the bay window (and maybe the chimney area shown in the grey tarp in the pictures)  Our couch got a little wet, but the bigger problem was our bedroom in the basement (which Greg likes to call our "Garden Apartment")  Our bedroom got lots of water, so we set up some fans, stripped the bed (it somehow came through the ceiling tiles and onto the bed) and I did many loads of laundry.  Now a day later we are all clean and dry-yippee! We were thankful to have power unlike all the people in Texas.

They have been super busy upstairs.  Yesterday by the end of the day we had one wall, which will someday be the outer wall of the master bedroom and closet.

After another long day for the crew, today they finished with 3 walls up!  It was bright and cold and all the trees are still covered in ice as the temperatures have not risen enough to melt all the ice.
However you could not stop our hardworking crew!

As we watched them work Charlie and I were reflecting on building the treehouse and how long it took us to get the walls framed like they have them now.   Charlie is confident these guys could have built the treehouse in a few days! (but we won't share this conversation with the treehouse builder)
